"What do you mean by “existing”? What if I get a new electric furnace and get rid of my gas furnace?

First of all, members that switch from a gas furnace to an electric furnace must wait two years to be eligible for rebates under this program because adding an electric furnace to your home does just that, it adds load to our system.  We can’t emphasize this enough. This is not a fuel switching program.  It is an electricity conservation program and adding a new electric furnace only adds load.
