Outage Affects Wells, Oasis, Pilot and surrounding areas.

Wells Rural Electric Company members in Pilot, Oasis, Wells and the surrounding valleys experienced a wholesale power supply outage this morning.

Service was interrupted at approximately 3:15a. m. on Friday, December 11 when a line-to-ground-fault 18.7 miles down-line caused a breaker in Idaho Power Companyâ--s  Upper Salmon Substation to open.  Attempts to close that breaker remotely failed so Idaho Power Company crews were dispatched to reset the breaker manually. When the breaker could not be reset manually, crews began patrolling the transmission line and preparing to restore power supply through an alternate feed. Service resumed at approximately 8:45 a. m.
